Single accommodations are limited and are available on a first come, first served basis. can't remember for sure which hotel this was at but I think it was the outrigger on Kona?) (I called down to the front desk and was told there was nobody there until the morning-all they needed to do was to reset the router. Even on vacation, I need to be able to get an internet connection or risk losing a lot of $$$ The only two problems were changing the air travel (which, admittedly, I did twice and the second time was pretty late) but it was treated as non-urgent even when the trip was approaching and the WiFi went out in the hotel. Also wish I would have seen the Bishop museum. But we just drove past them-I wanted to go in. When I saw them listed on the itinerary, I skipped going to them on my early day. The one thing that I was disappointed by was the brevity of the stops at Iolani Palace and the King Kahmeamea statue in Honolulu. Loved finding the sea turtles, also took a whaling tour, snorkeled. I found some surf lessons and the manta ray tour right next to the hotel in Kona was AWESOME. Unfortunately, this level is not appropriate for individuals who use wheelchairs or walkers.Īctually two of my favorites were activites that were not part of the tour, but were facilitated a bit by Cory. You can handle longer walking tours (more than 90 minutes), traversing dusty or uneven terrain, standing for periods of time, varying altitudes and temperatures, and don’t mind being on the go with some early starts, late-night experiences, and full days. You lead an active life at home (walking, biking, and hiking are things you may enjoy) and few thousand steps a day isn’t out of the norm. You’re ready to seize the day, whatever it may bring. You can expect some longer days balanced with free time to recharge or set out on your own adventure. You can navigate hills and uneven ground, climb into various modes of transportation (tuk-tuk, cable car, zodiac, etc.), and could possibly anticipate changes in elevation. You don’t want to miss a thing, so walking and standing for longer periods of time (1-2 hours) isn’t a big deal. You’re comfortable walking a few city blocks at a time, but need some time to unwind and relax. You feel confident walking at least 30-45 minutes at a time over a variety of terrains – from cobblestones streets to easy straightaways to a couple hills or flights of stairs. You can handle at least one flight of stairs, board a coach, and walk for 15-30 minutes at a time with little difficulty.
